January 16, 2007:
Premier will be hosting the first SMTA of Houston chapter event in 2007 to kickoff the year. The guest speaker will be Dr. Dan Baldwin of Engent, Inc. His presentation will review the materials, processes and reliability of Lead Free Solder Solutions.The presentation will focus on materials selection based on environment impact and market trends. It will also highlight lead free solutions for component lead terminations, connectors, and PCB surface finishes. Process implementation strategies and issues from lead free processing will be presented. A discussion on backwards compatability of lead free solder will also be included. Reliability and qualification of lead free solder solutions across multiple industrial efforts will also be reviewed.
